  • Sadaqa Jariya covers the scholarship seats’ logistics (such as hotel, flight, transportation, and educational tour guide and scholar of Islam).

    The scholarship seat holders are upholding our collective responsibility towards Masjid Al Aqsa. Some argue this is a fard kifaya (an obligation that some of our community must uphold but not necessarily everyone), which is seemingly abandoned by our American Muslim population. This is especially tragic, given the unique role and privilege that our government and corporations play in geopolitics of the region.

    Donors will gain good deeds from any actions inspired by the delegates from this trip until the Day of judgement. Given how transformative we anticipate this trip to be, inshAllah - God Willing - it will be weighty on their right scales .

  • When people donate sadaqa jariya towards this project, the sahih hadith applies in which they gain the equivalence of visiting Masjid Al Aqsa because they “sent a gift of oil to light its lamps”.

    To honor the literal translation of this hadith, we also commit a portion of the scholarships towards a tangible donation directly to the masjid.

    Maymunah reported: She said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell us about the Sacred House in Jerusalem.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “It is the land of the gathering and the Resurrection. Go there and pray, for one prayer in it is like a thousand prayers elsewhere.” She said, “What if I cannot endure travel to there?” The Prophet said, “Let one send a gift of oil to light its lamps, for whoever does so is as if he has gone there.”
